Many Americans suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds.  Some wounds are associated with complications from diabetes, vascular disorders, pressure sores or traumatic wounds.   The types of wounds treated include pressure, diabetic, neuropathic and ischemic ulcers, venous insufficiency, traumatic and surgical wounds, vasculitis, burns, late effects of radiation,  Peristomal skin irritations and other problem wounds.  The Center utilizes the most up-to-date approaches to wound healing such as advanced wound dressing, bioengineered skin replacement and in some situations, hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
